Keeping Your Business Immaculate

When we installed a suggestion box in the entryway of our business, I was amazed to see how many customers responded. After we started going through the suggestions, we realized that there was one request that we kept seeing--the need for a cleaner store. We decided to make a few changes to keep our place cleaner, including hiring a professional cleaning service. The results were incredible. Customers started to comment on how clean our place was, instead of the need for dramatic changes. We also noticed a boost in our sales because customers felt more comfortable in our store. 4 Tips to Help You Keep Your Carpets Clean

by Lee Porter

As a homeowner with carpet, you likely know just how difficult it can be to keep it clean. Carpets are a bit more difficult to keep clean because dirt can easily sink into the fibers making them difficult to see. Once more and more dirt builds up, it can leave stains that are difficult to remove. Here are four tips to help you keep your carpets as clean as possible:

  1. Vacuum Slowly: Vacuuming your carpets regularly is important because it removes surface dirt that will eventually sink into the bottom of the carpeting. Without regular vacuuming, the surface dirt will begin to stain the carpets because it will sink in. This can make it difficult to remove in the future. Be sure that when you vacuum, you are taking your time. This will ensure that the process is effective. You will want to roll over each spot twice and use the special attachment tools to clean the edges where a great deal of dirt tends to build up.
  2. Use Welcome Mats: Welcome mats are a great way to prevent excessive amounts of dirt from being tracked into your home. This will reduce the amount of time that you have to spend vacuuming regularly.
  3. Don't Ignore Stains: Once you see any parts of the carpet that is stained or you have recently spilled something, never ignore it. Ignoring it will only cause the stain to become worse because it will set it. If the stain is still wet, use paper towels to soak up as much of the liquid as possible. From here, you can use a mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar to clean the stain out. Be sure to dab with this cleaning solution and never scrub, since that can damage the fibers.
  4. Hire Professionals: Finally, you will want to be sure that you hire professionals, such as Harper's Carpet Cleaners, to provide deep cleaning every year. Professionals use the right tools to work warm water into the carpets and soak it back up to remove as much set in dirt as possible. Professionals also use highly effective cleaners that won't damage the carpet. Most carpet cleaners that you can purchase yourself are too harsh and can eventually cause damage or discoloration to the carpets.

By knowing these things about keeping your carpet clean, you can be sure that your carpeting lasts much longer before you need to replace it. This is going to save you a great deal of money and time.
