Keeping Your Business Immaculate

When we installed a suggestion box in the entryway of our business, I was amazed to see how many customers responded. After we started going through the suggestions, we realized that there was one request that we kept seeing--the need for a cleaner store. We decided to make a few changes to keep our place cleaner, including hiring a professional cleaning service. The results were incredible. Customers started to comment on how clean our place was, instead of the need for dramatic changes. We also noticed a boost in our sales because customers felt more comfortable in our store. Tips For Keeping Your House Clean During The Week (So You Don't Have To Spend All Of Saturday Cleaning)

by Lee Porter

You might hate cleaning your house because you find yourself cleaning all day on Saturday or Sunday, on the days when you most want to be laying around and recuperating from the week. You don't have to clean all day in order to get a clean home. Here are some tips to follow during the week so that you never have to spend more than fifteen to twenty minutes cleaning your home at any one time.

1. Create a Space for People to Put Their Things When They Come Home

Your first step is to make sure that when things are brought through the door of your home, be they backpacks, coats, mail, or the newspaper, they don't immediately get tossed everywhere. When items come in the door, they tend to be the main source of clutter in your house an hour later. If you create a specific space where people can put things when they first enter your home, you can control the clutter and make cleaning itself much easier. Put a small table near all of the doors of your house for people to toss keys and mail and put a few hooks up so that people can hang their coats and backpacks.

2. Do Your Dishes After Each Meal

Next, get into the habit of doing your dishes after each meal. This will help you avoid having the clutter build up in the kitchen. You may have noticed that it is much easier to do dishes in a sink that is only half full, rather than a sink that is bursting at the seams with dishes. You need room to move. Keeping the sink half full of dishes or less by regularly doing the dishes will make your job much easier when you're trying to clean up.

3. Get Rid of Clutter on a Timer

Every day, before you go to bed, have everyone help you get rid of all of the clutter on a timer. Set a timer for five minutes. Ask everyone that lives with you to choose a room and put away anything that is out of place. This will allow you to keep the clutter to a minimum so that when you actually break out the dusting materials, you can dust quickly without ever having to stop.

4. Vacuum One Room a Day

Finally, commit to vacuuming one room a day so that you never have to do your entire house. This will save you from having to deal with kids tripping over cords or having to plug or unplug the vacuum more than once.
