Keeping Your Business Immaculate

When we installed a suggestion box in the entryway of our business, I was amazed to see how many customers responded. After we started going through the suggestions, we realized that there was one request that we kept seeing--the need for a cleaner store. We decided to make a few changes to keep our place cleaner, including hiring a professional cleaning service. The results were incredible. Customers started to comment on how clean our place was, instead of the need for dramatic changes. We also noticed a boost in our sales because customers felt more comfortable in our store. Did Your Toddler Get Stains On Your White Grout? 2 Ways To Remove Them

by Lee Porter

If you have a toddler that lives in your home, you know how messy they can be. If one of these messes is on white grout on your tiled kitchen floor, you need to clean it up fast. If you do not, then you may have some permanent damage. Below are two stains you may have, and cleaning solutions that can help remove them.

Red Fruit Juice

Red fruit juice has a red food coloring that will stain white grout if not cleaned promptly. You can clean up the juice and remove the stain from your grout with this easy cleaning solution that you can make yourself.

Supplies Needed

You only need a few supplies to make this cleaning solution including:

  • Small bucket
  • Hot water
  • One cup of powdered oxygen bleach
  • Soft-bristled scrub brush
  • Paper towels

If there is standing fruit juice on the floor, lay some paper towels over it to soak it up, and then throw them away.

Put one cup of the bleach powder into eight cups of hot water in a bucket and mix thoroughly. Pour the solution on the red stained area until it is saturated. Let it sit for about 30 minutes. Use the soft-bristled scrub brush and scrub the stain in a circulation motion until it is gone. When you are finished, completely rinse the grout with clear water. Wipe off the area with a clean rag to remove any residue that may be left behind.

Crayons

If your toddler is a little Picasso, they may use your tile as their coloring surface. If they get their crayons on your grout, you should remove it as soon as you can. The cleaning solution below works great to bring your grout back to its original color.

Supplies Needed

  • Oil and water displacing spray
  • Soft bristled scrub brush
  • Water
  • Two clean rags

Spray the oil and water displacing spray thoroughly on the crayon marks, and use a clean rag to wipe it off. You will have to use some elbow grease to get it off. If you still see crayon markings, spray the area again, and use the soft bristled brush in a circular motion to remove them.

When you are finished, rinse the area with water, and then use a clean, dry rag to dry it off.

If you are not able to get rid of the above stains, contact a tile company like Superior Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning Inc to come to your home to clean the grout for you.
